Lead Time

Since all of our candles are hand-poured and made fresh from our studio to your doorstep, please allow up to 72 hours for order processing (unless otherwise noted on the top of our website). For larger orders, please allow up to 14 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Our goal is to process all orders as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.

As a result of the ongoing effects of the pandemic, changes have occurred within our supply chain and still affect our processing time. Please allow a longer processing time prior to shipment due to unforeseen circumstances with supply delays and shortages. 

We will communicate current processing times on our website as well as on all order confirmation emails.

Sales Tax

Only orders shipping to addresses within California are subject to a sales tax.

Shipping Costs

We charge a flat rate shipping fee of $9.95 for all orders under $100. Orders of $100 and above ship free.


We proudly use verified carbon neutral shipping to offset the impact on the environment. 

Orders are shipped via UPS or USPS Priority Mail. When shipping by UPS, orders must be shipped to a physical address (no P.O. Boxes, please). Tracking information will be emailed to you once your order has been shipped. 

Please check your shipping address to make sure that it is correct. Once an order has shipped, the shipping address cannot be corrected. 

Upon shipment, UPS Ground service takes an average of 1-5 business days depending upon your location. USPS Priority Mail has an average transit time of 1 to 3 business days depending upon your location.

Please note that as a result of COVID-19 and during peak periods, unforeseen shipping transit delays by UPS or USPS may occur. Transit times are beyond our control after the package leaves our studio. For any concerns about transit delays after your order has shipped, please email us at info@MakanaStudios.com with your order # in the subject line. 

Upon shipping, we automatically email your tracking number. Please allow up to 24 hours for the information to update. If you have not received your order, even though the tracking number indicates that it has been delivered, please allow up to 48 hours for your shipment to arrive. Please notify us within 30 days of the shipping date if you have not received your order. If 30 days have passed and we have not heard from you, we will assume that the package has been delivered and that your order is complete. 

Expedited Shipping

Expedited shipping is available for an additional fee and shipping options can be selected during checkout. Please email us at info@MakanaStudios.com for any questions.

Returns and Exchanges

We take pride in our products and work tirelessly to create them by hand for you. If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please email us within 14 business days of receipt at info@MakanaStudios.com. Please include your order # in the subject line. We will be more than happy to assist you.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 business days. We do not accept returns or exchanges on items that have been used or altered. We do not accept returns or exchanges on final sale items.  

Shipping costs associated with returning or exchanging an item(s) are the sole responsibility of the customer. For any questions regarding returns or exchanges, email us at info@MakanaStudios.com with your order # in the subject line.

Damaged Goods

While we do our very best to make certain that your merchandise arrives safely, we have no control over the handling of your package once it leaves our studio. Once you receive your package, please carefully inspect each item. In the unfortunate event that some of your merchandise is damaged during transit, please email us within 48 hours of receipt at info@MakanaStudios.com with your order # in the subject line. Please email photos of the outside of shipping box as well as photos of the actual damaged item(s).

Please do not discard the damaged items until after hearing from us as we will need to file a claim with the courier.

Unclaimed Items

For packages that remain unclaimed and are subsequently returned to us, the customer is responsible for the cost of re-shipment.
