Named for the French word meaning “fold” or “the act of folding,” Pliage (pronounced plee-ahzh) draws inspiration from the sculptural simplicity of folded paper. The line reflects a careful balance—minimal yet dimensional, structured yet soft. Each detail, from the textured exterior to the warm glow of the vessel, speaks to an understated design language shaped by light and form.
Each candle is made with a clean-burning soy-coconut wax blend, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and a lead-free cotton wick for a smooth, consistent burn. The opaque white glass emits a soft, ambient glow when lit, and is marked subtly with the Makana name.

PLEASE READ: Before each lighting (including your first burn session), it is important that you TRIM THE CANDLE WICK TO ABOUT 1/4" IN HEIGHT for a clean, safe and even burning experience. This will prevent a large flame from developing and will prevent smoking. Trimming the wick as recommended will also help extend the life of your candle. Do not burn candle for more than 3 hours at a time. Additionally, place your candle on a stable surface away from drafts, and away from children and pets. Do not touch a burning candle and allow to cool completely after extinguishing prior to handling.
